Product Engineer

SONATA is a doctor-led healthcare membership focused on preventing disease before it starts. We combine the deepest testing available — whole-genome sequencing, 140+ biomarkers, epigenetics, polygenic risk, and metabolic measures — with ongoing physician-led care, all powered by our clinical AI. As a Product Engineer, you'll build the technical foundation of personalized healthcare—products that make complex health data actionable and delightful to use. We work without heavy PM overhead: you'll help shape the problem, not just implement a solution.

What you'll do:

  • Build member health dashboards, AI chat experiences, and diagnostic interfaces
  • Ship production features end to end that turn genomics and biomarker data into clear insights—from idea to shipped, not just incremental improvements
  • Work directly with the founders (ex-Linear & Ramp) to shape technical vision and architecture
  • Collaborate closely with design, no hand-offs—prototype together, ship together
  • Help define our engineering culture and hire the technical team

You should have:

  • 4+ years building production software in a team environment, ideally at a startup with a genuinely high engineering bar
  • Experience with modern web technologies and building data-heavy interfaces
  • Product sensibility—you care about UX, speed, and polish, notice sluggish states and misaligned pixels, and push back when something doesn't feel right
  • A deep sense of ownership—self-directed, full-lifecycle, comfortable moving fast through ambiguity without sacrificing quality
  • An AI-native way of working—you already use AI to create leverage in how you build, and you're excited to build clinical AI that gives doctors the same leverage
